Non-thermal plasmas for disease control and abiotic stress management in plants

چکیده

Climate change is predicted to cause severe loss in agricultural production by increasing disease epidemics and intensifying abiotic stresses. Therefore, there a need for sustainable methods alleviate plant stress, such as non-thermal plasma. Here we review the role of plasma treatment, with focus on control viruses, bacteria, fungi other diseases. We present factors influencing microbicidal activity Application combating stresses drought, metal toxicity, nanoparticles salinity are discussed. Plasma-generated reactive species trigger stress-responsive genes plants. The hypothetical mechanisms involved triggering different controlling diseases well stresses, also presented mechanism plant-plasma interaction similar priming, hormesis or adaptive response, resembles vaccination animals humans.

Abiotic Stress in Plants

Living on the same planet, plants means a lot to us. No matter being taken, as our food or treated with great commercial significance, plants are so indispensable that we have to learn how to protect, make use of, and most important of all, get on well with them. In the first place, what we all understand is: plants are distinguished from us or other animals by being unable to escape from the s...

Abiotic Stress Signaling and Responses in Plants

As sessile organisms, plants must cope with abiotic stress such as soil salinity, drought, and extreme temperatures. Core stress-signaling pathways involve protein kinases related to the yeast SNF1 and mammalian AMPK, suggesting that stress signaling in plants evolved from energy sensing. Stress signaling regulates proteins critical for ion and water transport and for metabolic and gene-express...

Non-thermal plasmas induced electrostatic stress on corneocyte desquamation.

The advent of non-thermal plasma brought a breakthrough in exploring its clinical applications in dermatology to bolster tissue generation in the domain of plasma medicine. This study aimed to investigate the effect of non-thermal plasma on the corneocyte of the skin cells, in treating superficial skin diseases via the process of corneocyte desquamation, a probable mechanism for skin cell proli...
